Privacy Policy
for the iOS/iPadOS app, TestFlight beta and this website
1. Data controller

2. General principle
D1 Toolbox works without its own user account, advertising, usage analytics or tracking. The app operates no developer-controlled server and does not independently transmit personal data or system data to the developer.
3. App data stored locally
The following data entered, imported or read from a connected controller is stored only on the iPhone or iPad being used:
- project and building names
- controller names, IP addresses and technical identifiers
- imported or retrieved VCF configurations and backups
- impedance measurements and measurement history
- event lists, maintenance sessions and system-check results
- commands prepared or sent by the user
- rack plans, app settings and username
A DOM password entered by the user is protected in the iOS Keychain. The developer has no access to this local data.
4. Local network and Telnet
With the user's permission, the app scans the configured IPv4 range on the local network. Service connections are established directly between the iPhone or iPad and the controller explicitly selected by the user. No developer-operated server is involved.
Compatible D1 systems use Telnet for service commands. Telnet is not encrypted. This function must therefore only be used by authorised technicians on a trusted service network protected against unauthorised access.
5. Export and disclosure
PDF reports, VCF backups and other files are exported only when the user explicitly opens the share sheet. The privacy terms of the destination app or storage service selected by the user then apply.
6. TestFlight beta
The external beta is distributed through Apple TestFlight. As part of TestFlight, Apple may process information about installation, app version, device and operating system, sessions, crashes, and voluntarily submitted feedback including attached screenshots. Depending on the invitation method, a tester's name and email address may be visible in App Store Connect; testers joining through a public link may be shown anonymously.
The developer uses beta data made available through App Store Connect only to operate the beta, diagnose defects, improve the app and respond to feedback. Apple's TestFlight terms and Apple privacy information also apply.
7. Delivery of this website
When this website is requested, the web server processes technically necessary connection data, in particular the IP address, date and time, requested page, browser/device information and transmission status. This is necessary to deliver the site and maintain its stability and security. The site itself currently uses no analytics, tracking or advertising services and sets no non-essential cookies.
The privacy selection made in the banner is stored in local browser storage under the key d1-cookie-consent-v1. The entry contains the selected categories, consent version and time of the decision. It is technically necessary so that the selection can be respected and the banner is not displayed on every page view. The selection can be changed at any time through “Cookie settings” in the footer.
Optional analytics and external-media categories are disabled by default. No services are currently integrated in either category. If optional services are added later, they will only be loaded after active consent and a changed consent version will trigger a new request.
Hosting provider: STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Deutschland. According to the provider, host names or IP addresses are anonymised in the access logs made available to customers. Available log files are retained for a limited period depending on their type.
Further information is available in the STRATO privacy policy.
8. Retention and deletion
Projects and DOMs stored locally can be deleted in the app. Credentials can be cleared in Settings. “Restore defaults” resets app settings including the stored password. Deleting the app removes its local app data; data in previously exported files or selected third-party services must be deleted separately there.
TestFlight beta data is additionally subject to Apple's retention and deletion rules. Requests concerning data accessible to the developer through App Store Connect can be sent to the contact address above.
9. Data subject rights
Where the legal requirements are met, data subjects may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. They may also lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority.
10. Changes
This privacy policy will be updated if app features, services used or legal requirements change. The current version remains available at this URL.
